At a young age, KD Hill discovered his passion for football a love that was nurtured by his hardworking single mother, Arneta Williams, who dedicated herself to providing a better life for her son. Through discipline, determination, and an unwavering belief in himself, KD became a powerhouse on the field, earning recognition as an award-winning defensive tackle in the SEC while playing for the Ole Miss Rebels. Driven by his lifelong dream to play in the NFL, KD pushed himself beyond limits. After his final collegiate season, he caught the attention of professional scouts, including the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets, and KD was also drafted in the XFL Orlando Guardians. While preparing for his shot at the NFL, KD balanced a demanding schedule driving trucks at night to support his family and training during the day to stay in elite athletic shape. His future looked bright, and his dream was within reach.

But in the early morning hours of July 21, 2023, everything changed. At 4:40 a.m., just outside of Cullman, Alabama, KD’s life took a dramatic turn when a devastating trucking accident left him pinned in the cab of his vehicle. His right leg was crushed beyond repair, and in the critical moments that followed, he was faced with an unthinkable reality — to survive, his leg would have to be amputated. Even in that moment of pain and uncertainty, KD’s faith remained unshaken. He knew that God was his refuge and source of strength, and that this was not the end of his story, it was the beginning of a new one. Rather than succumbing to despair, KD faced his challenge with courage and conviction, famously declaring, “Try me,” instead of “Why me.” His resilience, faith, and determination to rise above tragedy became the foundation of a new calling: inspiring others to overcome adversity and find strength in their own uphill climbs.
